- Koi Fish – 6-7 pics
- 1 big size Onion Paste
- Ginger Paste – ½ tsp
- Turmeric Powder – 2 tsp
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- Dry Red Chili – 2 pice
- Salt as per taste
- Kalo jeere/Kalonji/Nigella seeds – ½ tsp
- Green chilies (slitted length wise) – 4 to 5
- Enough Mustard oil

Tel Koi is made with whole fish. Hence the use of whole koi fish. Wash thoroughly, clean the guts and marinate with salt and turmeric powder on the Koi fishes. and set aside.
In a kadhai heat mustard oil and fry the fish over medium flame. Fry both sides and keep aside. Don’t fry Koi fishes for a long time, otherwise, they’ll become chewy.
In the same pan heat dry chili and kalo jeera. once it splutters, then add onion paste and fry till golden brown. next add ginger, turmeric, red chili, salt, and sugar and stir for another few times.
Become spice come dry and, starts to leave on the Kadai sides, apply the little water. Mix in and bring it to boil then add the fish and green chili.
Cover the Kadai and cook till gravy become thick. Remove the Tel Koi from heat and put in a serving plate and serve with steamed rice.
