Soya Achar

Soya Achar

My toady recipe is Soya Achar which can be taken, if desired, with roti, chapati, naan, or even rice. This dish is different from the rest of the soya recipes because it is tangy, sweet, and spicy. This dish is made from very nutritious food and is very good for your health. Adding one or two achar or pickle dollops to each meal should do to add taste to your dish. Achar or pickles are rich in antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals.

  • Chana Soya (Chopped Boiled) – 1 cup
  • Green Chilies (Chopped) – 5 to 6
  • Tamarind Paste – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic chopped – 1 tsp
  • Black Muster seeds – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder
  • Chilies dry – 1 to 2
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Refine Oil – 2 tbsp

TIME REQUIRED : Less than 15 minutes

Take a saucepan and heat some oil. Then add Dry Chili & Muster Seeds and sauté for few seconds.

When splutter begins add green chilies and garlic and sauté for a couple of seconds.

Add soya and Turmeric powder and cook for a few seconds.

Mix well with tamarind, salt, and sugar, then add some water.

Cook in a light flame until the gravy is dry and thick. Now you’re ready to eat ‘Soya Achar’ with roti, chapati or naan.
*** If you want to try something different with the Soya then the Soya Pakora is another interesting recipe for you. ***
