I tried to make this Katla Fish Curry a little different from how it was usually made by my mom and mother in law, but it’s homely and simple.
- Katla Fish – 200 gm
- Onion (chopped) – 1 pcs
- Onion Paste – 1 pcs
- Tomato (chopped) – 1 pcs
- Ginger Paste – ½ tsp
- Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
- Hung Curd – 1 tbsp
- Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
- Salt (to taste)
- Sugar (to taste)
- Turmeric Powder
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Refined Oil
- Mustered Oil
TIME REQUIRED : Less than 30 minutes
Wash the fish pieces in water, and mix them with turmeric powder & salt.
Hit some mustard oil in a pan and fry the pieces it turns golden on both sides.
Now apply some refined oil & ghee to a clean saucepan. Then add chopped onion, fry for a couple of minutes, after that apply a paste of ginger & garlic.
When the onion has turned brown color then add the chopped tomatoes, one pinch of turmeric powder & some salt. Now, add a little bit of warm water, then cover the pan and cook a few mins till the tomatoes are done.
Add red chili powder and curd, mix well and make a paste. Cook this curry for about 2 min. Now add the fish then cook a few secs. At last, add a little bit of ghee, and you are done!
